I'm in Ukiah again.

I am staying at the Best Western (see above) and walked to Patrona with my camera looking for something different. Shots come at unexpected moments, like this sunset over an abandoned lot:

I found this window into an entirely alien lifestyle at a furniture store. I've tried to get this shot on other trips but it takes the right combination of light and stillness to get a picture that is not blurred. Today I hit it just right.

And this indication on a sporting goods store that not everyone here is a country person.

Actually I imagine they do a lot of business around high school graduation time, and relatively little otherwise. The tattoo place that was in this block has moved.
It was a great night for walking. The sun was setting, the air temperature was mild, people were sitting in chairs out in their yards watching babies crawl around. I made a reservation at Patrona, for one. I picked up a free USA Today at the Best Western to read with dinner. I eat too fast if I am alone and don't read or have someone to talk to. If only my Buddhism would kick inso I could savor each moment of each bite like it was all eternity. Oh, well. It takes about 15 minutes to walk over. Dinner was the garganzola, port soaked fig pizza which I love so well, and Syrah (ditto) with strawberry shortcake in a glass. That last sounds odd but it tastes good. Then a walk back to the motel in the dark of the evening. Lovely.
