I've been travelling a lot recently. Here are a few things I saw.
In Willits near the courthouse there are some fairly old (for this area) buildings. This one has history on it in layers.

A bit further up 101 I got stuck in traffic waiting to get by road resurfacing in town, and I saw this motel sign and flag. I think it may be illegal to fly a flag in such tatters, anyone know? Aside from that I was struck by the make-do lettering on the sign, which with the flag gave me the image that the motel owners had just given up on things.

And, up on Route 96 as I was going to Yreka to spend 2 minutes in front of the judge in a case I have up there, I saw this in Happy Camp. Bigfoot and related large primates are very popular in this part of the country, but this is one of the standouts. It is on a statue at the east end of Happy Camp.
